THE HERITAGE

A Legacy of Precision. A Modern Craft.

The Foundation: Clinical Excellence

The heritage of the House of Monarkh is rooted in the high-stakes world of clinical optics. Long before the first frame was sketched, our founder, Saira Patel, established a career as a Qualified Dispensing Optician, mastering the intricate mathematics of vision and the nuances of facial geometry.

This professional lineage is the backbone of every piece we create. While others view eyewear as a mere accessory, we view it as a precision instrument. Our heritage is one of technical mastery—balancing the delicate weight distribution required to make a high-prescription lens feel weightless while ensuring the aesthetic remains sharp, defiant, and perfectly balanced.

The Architecture of the Prototype

Every Monarkh silhouette undergoes a rigorous, multi-stage evolution before it is granted the house seal. The journey begins in the United Kingdom, where the initial creative spark takes form. Saira personally leads the design phase, sketching each concept herself alongside her UK-based designer.

This collaborative process ensures that every line drawn is both aesthetically daring and technically sound. From these hand-drawn visions, the team develops the first 3D model and initial prototype within the UK. This stage is critical, ensuring the geometric balance and anatomical fit are flawless from the very first iteration.

Mastery in Western India: The Human Touch

The vision then travels to her specialized team in Western India, a region celebrated for its historic mastery of artisanal craftsmanship. Here, a second, refined prototype is brought to life. Saira works alongside these master craftsmen, bridging the gap between British design and artisanal execution to ensure the “Monarkh fit” is achieved in every curve and contour.

Luxury is found in the details that a machine cannot replicate. We are proud to have our collections handcrafted by skillful artisans in Western India. Saira has personally immersed herself within the manufacturing facilities, choosing to work only with those who share her obsession with perfection. Saira does not simply oversee production; she works alongside the artisans, involving herself in every technical hurdle to create the best possible version of her vision.

The Italian Connection: Mazzucchelli 1849

To complement this hand-finished artistry, we anchor our material science in the storied tradition of Italy. After exhaustive research into the world’s most durable and skin-friendly materials, Saira chose to utilize premium Mazzucchelli acetate. Drawing upon a legacy dating back to 1849, this bio-based, hypoallergenic material provides the depth of color and silken hand-feel that defines a Monarkh frame. When paired with our hand-finished hardware, the result is an eyewear piece that is as robust as it is beautiful.

Versatile Geometry: The Petite and Medium Fit

A core pillar of our heritage is solving the industry’s most overlooked challenge: the struggle for the perfect fit. Saira has architected a signature geometry that honors the petite profile without compromising on style. However, the true brilliance of a Monarkh frame lies in its versatility. Through precision engineering of bridge widths and temple lengths, our silhouettes are designed to be universally flattering—offering a tailored feel for petite faces while scaling effortlessly to provide a sophisticated fit for medium-sized profiles.

The Monarkh Standard

At the House of Monarkh, we refuse to sacrifice technical precision for aesthetic allure. We exist to champion the petite and medium profile through versatile geometry – redefining the very architecture of luxury for the modern visionary.
